It would be helpful to also make use of a Dependencies field as a two way link, for compatibility with GanttPlugin as well as for the ability to update links from either the parent or the child ticket -- blockers and dependencies should update in tandem.

+1 for two-way relationships.
However, I think GanttPlugin Dependency says "Can't start before...", but Master ticket says "Can't close until...".

With the amount of changes coming in the ticketing system in 0.11 (Worflow etc.) I recommend waiting on this enhancement until we have a 0.11 version to work this into. The new ticket action functions may be of help.

The new version now supports bi-directional editing. As the Gantt plugin looks largely abandoned, I'm not going to try adding support for it.
