#407 closed enhancement (fixed)

CAPTCHA checking for new ticket submissions

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: anybody
Priority: normal Component: Request-a-Hack
Severity: normal Keywords: captcha
Cc: Trac Release: 0.9

Description

It would be great if unregistered submitters of new tickets would be presented with a CAPTCHA image where they were required to type in the correct sequence of letters/numbers in order to submit a ticket. This would cut down dramatically the amount of SPAM tickets, while permitting the feedback of people who otherwise would not submit a ticket because they don't want to bother with making another account they have to remember.

This has been discussed at length on the trac-dev list. This probably will not be possible until Alec's workflow branch gets merged (currently slated for 0.11).
