#8717 assigned enhancement

Install the VotePlugin

Reported by: rjollos Owned by: rjollos

Description (last modified by rjollos)

As suggested in comment:22:ticket:1226 it would be nice to have the VotePlugin installed so that tickets can be voted on. This would give the maintainers an idea of the demand for a fix or enhancements, and would be particularly useful when taking over maintenance of a plugin that has not been maintained for sometime.

I'm not sure if the VotePlugin will work with Trac 0.10, so this may need to wait for the 0.11, 0.12 or 1.0 upgrade.

VotePlugin 0.1.5 has been installed. It was listed as a requirement in TracHacksPlugin's setup.py. Let's see how it performs (and anticipate soon upgrading to the 0.2.0 version that hasienda has done so much work on).

Although I see the up and down arrows at wiki pages, but not at tickets as suggested in the description above.

How about now? As anonymous, I see the vote arrows on both wiki pages and tickets.

We should do that ASAP, especially to make use of the new vote wiki macros. Would you be so kind as to summarized the ToDo list, because I'm a bit limited regarding historic notes right now.

If I'm remembering correctly, you did a lot of work on the VotePlugin, and we left off with me promising to code review prior to the release of 0.2. I'm not sure I'll find time to do that anytime soon, so I'd be in favor of just going ahead with the release of VotePlugin 0.2 if you feel confident.

Before we re-install VotePlugin to trac-hacks though, I think we should resolve #11147 and #11149 for the TagsPlugin, just so that we have few known sources of error. I don't recall exactly why we uninstalled VotePlugin, but I think we were seeing some errors on t-h.o shortly after the upgrade. I looked through the associated tickets in the range #11145 - #11154 and didn't see any comments about it, so it must have been something we discussed on IRC.
