    55Why not using different (sub)-tickets to track hours and estimations independently and consolidate all data (estimations and workload) in a parent ticket. Since your proposal is just to handle 2 categories what if someone else requires new categories to split, lets say, deployment, planning, documentation. it will mean modify again the plugin. On the other hand, it will not fit for everybody as a generic solution.
