How to adapt LaTeX default stylesheet — at Initial Version

Description
Even if I can adapt many LaTeX items inside a single page, I'd like to set some defaults for the complete environment. is there any way, to place my own format somewhere.
Or is the recommended way, to define an individual LaTeX style, and always refer to this with LatexDocCls(article_mine, a4paper)? ??
