After installing some Ubuntu updates ChildTickets don't work anymore

I still have the Child Tickets Button and it can be used to add a new ticket but the ticket is not added to the child list. I would expect the ticket references to appear in the (sqlite) ticket_custom table but the table stays empty.
Logging didn't reveal an error. Is there anything special I should look for?
