#397 closed enhancement (fixed)

Feature request: forum groups

Reported by: Russ Brown Owned by: Radek Bartoň
Priority: normal Component: DiscussionPlugin
Severity: normal Keywords:
Cc: Trac Release: 0.10

Description

It would be really nice to be able to create groups that forums can be put into to better organise them. For example, one group could be for 'projects', where project-specific forums are placed. Another could be 'help' which contains help forums.

Would make a large set of forums much easier to manage and use.

I don't get a point. There are topics. Do you mean another layer?

comment:2 Changed 18 years ago by Radek Bartoň

I ment forums, current hierary is: list of forums / list of topcis / messages list

I'm proposing adding an additional layer at the top of the existing hierarchy to help organise a long list of forums.

Here's perfect illustration:

Notice the forum groups:

  • Assistance
  • Discussion & Documentation
  • International Gentoo Users
  • etc...

Should appear in next changeset. Needs database schema change. I will be administrable in WebAdminPlugin only.
