I know, the maintainer explicitly asked for a request about a python2.6 egg, however priority rating of this request seem little to high. In fact it's not too hard to check-out, and compile on your own. Did you try? Average users would benefit much more from turning requests like #4783 into available code. So I'll adjust it accordingly in the hope developer(s) will consider this before spending time on compiling rather then actual coding here.

BTW, there was another, identical request with #6510.

If someone can build it and send it to me or attach it to the ticket or ask me to give you access to the edit the wiki and add it, that would work !

Egg builds for Python 2.6.5 added. I tested the 0.8 version in a Ubuntu server 10.04 and Trac 0.12b1, and works fine.
