#6587 closed enhancement (fixed)
Reformat cryptic LDAP user ids to user preference name in posts
Reported by: | jeebus | Owned by: | Radek Bartoň |

Severity: | normal | Keywords: | format username ldap poster |

Description
DiscussionPlugin suffers from the same issue (for some of us) as mentioned here:
http://trac.edgewall.org/ticket/7339
Many of us use LDAP auth with user ids rather than descriptive names. It would nice to be able to show message posters' names on their posts rather than cryptic id#s.
Maybe you could leverage the patch from the ticket above?

Can anyone using LDAP with Trac confirm if the problem disappeared?

I suppose this is fixed; if not, reopen.
Note: See

I have added format_author() to everywhere I found in changeset r7899. I suppose this is enough. If not, just tell me where it still displays LDAP usernames. Also please test if I didn't break something.
