Sorry to rage a war, coderanger, but:
- I'll rewrite the plugin to use the aforementioned AccountManagerPlugin
- It's a easy solution for cases where disk access is disabled, but database access is allowed

If you wish to rewrite the plugin, I suggest that you copy the codebase and create yourself a new plugin.
I was just about to close all of the tickets for this plugin since it doesn't make sense to keep them open for a deprecated plugin.
