German translation

Here's is my first take on German translations for all current messages.

Sorry for taking so long after my initial promise to do it.

Additionally I did notice a few places, where msgid's could be improved, but will follow-up on this later.

I've notices some commit hook failures too, but these are only occasional, seemingly random misses.

The commit hook logs show a last modified date of Sept 11, which is when osimons made the nice change to prevent the output of deprecated notices, so unfortunately I don't think there is any info to be found there as to why the post-commit-hook sometimes fails.
