#8544 closed enhancement (wontfix)
Move link to RPC API doc to Help/Guide (TracGuide) page

Description
The RPC API doc is very nice, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to have the link occupying critical space in the meta navigation bar. I think it would make more sense to put the link on the Help/Guide page (TracGuide).

FWIW , I second that .
OTOH & JFTR, if you were using MacTheme then it is still available by default, but included in a drop down menu (unless you use configuration option to override that)

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I went ahead and made that change and it did just what I wanted. The 'new help' proposal looks really valuable too.

BTW, could it be shorter? Any reason why I shouldn't update it to just say "API"?

Sounds reasonable to me. Nice to free up space on the metanav.

(In [9970]) XmlRpcPlugin: Shorter meta menu text, 'RPC API' -> 'API'. See #8544.
Plugins can't insert content and links into the main Trac help pages. A reason why I proposed trac:wiki:TracDev/Proposals/NewHelp some years ago - but haven't been able to complete it unfortunately... Some day...
I believe you can use trac:wiki:TracNavigation to disable the link if you don't want it (untested):
There really isn't much more to do from the plugin perspective.
